About Course

Your guide to what this course is about.

Code Builders is where you learn to program in Scratch – the colorful, block-based language where you snap pieces together to make things happen on screen. You’ll build animations, stories, and games: characters that move and talk, scenes that change, scores that go up, and puzzles that react when you press keys or click. You’re not copying one path forever—you’ll try ideas, change numbers, and see what happens when you decide.

Live class: You meet your teacher for about 30 minutes when class runs. That’s time to learn something new, share your screen, ask questions, and see demos.

Between classes: You practice in Scratch and by looking at questions from this online course. Short sessions a few times a week beat one giant cram—you get to improve your project, not only “finish and forget”.

You’re not expected to swallow a brand-new lesson every single week. It’s normal (and good!) to spend more time on one project while you get it working the way you want.

Module 1: Programming Basics
Module 1 is your first pass through Scratch: you learn how the editor works, how blocks snap into commands and programs, and why order matters. You practice motion, Looks (say, costumes, effects), sound, and events (green flag, keys, clicks). Midway you connect ideas into stories and small shows; later you add broadcasts so sprites and the stage work together, loops for polish, and optional clones for group effects. The module ends with a capstone that pulls those skills into one short performance you can explain and share.

Module 2: Program Sequencing
Create programs that include sequences, events, loops, and conditionals.

Module 3: Game Patterns

Module 4: Logic & Discovery Lab!
fThis module focuses on creating "Smart Games." They are designed to be challenging but fun, emphasizing Sensing (how the computer "sees" the world) and Operators (how the computer "thinks" or does math).
